I leave foil on all the time. Even when I do burgers at Full setting. I have a 590 and the large foil rolls from Sams club are perfect size for the 590 drip pan.
I clean the ash about once a year on my 590. I don't use the grill a ton maybe once or twice a month.
It is Lumber Jack brand but when I checked the bad it says Mesquite blend. I could not find a breakdown on the bag so I assume your numbers are correct.
I got 2 bags of 100% mesquite on Black Friday at the Hanover, PA store for 4.99 each. By the time I got there in the afternoon the shelves were almost bare.
My 590 sits outside on an uncovered patio. I use the Rec Teq cover. I have had the 590 for a few months and so far the cover has not trapped any moisture under the cover. So far so good.
For the first time, I reverse seared a steak.
A 1.5lb bone-in ribeye from a local butcher. A little bit of olive oil on the outside and seasoned with heifer dust.
Set the 590 at 225 and took the internal temp of the steak to 125. Took the steak off, put the grill grates on the right side of...
Put the RT-590 together this afternoon and connected to Wifi. I will do the burn in tomorrow and hopefully some ribs this weekend.
My plan is to use the RecTeq 590 to replace my smoker and my gas grill.
Picked up the following accessories:'
Grill Grates
Cover
Grill Brush
Front Shelf...
I grill more than I smoke but I want something that does double duty. How does the 590 do as a grill? I am sure I will be happy with it as a smoker but am interested in the grilling aspects.
Thanks in advance.
