I asked the good folks at recteq about the fan on my 590 not cycling even when set to 180 degrees when the outdoor temperature was 60 degrees. They suggested increasing the auger rate to the maximum of 6.5% from the 3.5% I had it set at for 90 degree low and slow summer cooks and the fan...
Had the same problem and it turned out to be the igniter in my case. Disconnected the igniter wire from the controller board (the board is labeled) and lit the pellets in the firepot with a torch and was able to finish the cook.
If you don't want to use the HEIF format (used to save space), open your camera, go to settings, then Format and advanced options or something similar. You should see an option to turn off HEIF pictures. The pictures should then save as a .jpg.
I was concerned too about the jerky rack fitting but it fit perfectly with no mods. I've already used it for wings and jerky with the top rack loaded so there's room.
