Welcome to the forum @NewDualfire1200. Can't help you with your questions on the 1200 or smokebox, but I suspect some of the knowledgeable folks here will be able to offer some insight. I would agree you need to give recteq a call as they will need to supply any missing parts for you. Storms...
I am not one who easily shares what I do, nor do I think the world is waiting for me to opine publicly on any issue. My decades long career as a federal agent no doubt influences that, not to mention the applause so many of us received returning from Nam.
For @Mike , I appreciate what you have...
Would agree that Lonestar builds what is apparently a great pellet grill/smoker. The only drawback I've seen to date is the length of time from date of order to build to ship to receive. According to one of the forums I have perused, a period of 3 months is not unusual.
Shocked? Are you going to develop a solution to improve on the alternatives that have been suggested but don't like? Let us hear back from you when you come up with something and good luck!

You may have zero interest now @Jim6820 , but CPI has emailed there is a new v.1.5.3 to address the issues we both experienced. I look forward to the next cook using the new version. Good luck with your continued experiment. Semper fi
I am near the end of this same experiment with BM Hickory and Royal Oak Charcoal pellets. I am on the 2nd bag of Royal Oak and BM Hickory has been my every day pellet for a couple years now. While my taste buds allow me to recognize the difference between fine bourbon and the rot gut swill, I...
CPSC is the dog with bite in this overblown matter. It is a small federal agency that writes proposed federal regulations, seeks comments from industry etc and then publishes their final ruling. It functions in some ways to promote the political goals of the party in power. Commissioners are...
Both of mine have now moved to v1.5.1. Initially, one upgraded immediately and the other did about 2 weeks later. I didn't see a big difference in time to set a get done time when I smoked a pork tenderloin.
A couple weeks ago I chimed in on your thread admitting that I had no trouble updating one CPT but was unable to have the second one update. After reading your latest posts today, thought I would make another run at updating the second probe. After charging it up, I used the app and selected...
Here is a discussion on this topic that Combustion Inc has on their pages. Not attacking anyone's beliefs on this subject, but .....well, here it is.

I had difficulty updating a second CI probe last week, although the first one to update was no problem. Haven't had a chance to try out the updated probe due to the North Pole weather we've had in east TN the past 10 days or so. But, the better half straightened out the table where I had...
@Greg Jones' suggestion is certainly viable. Just a few miles south of him in east TN you will find a bunch of retired "lawmen" and other first responders around the Knoxville area. I believe you are acquainted with one fella who operates Lawman Rub and escaped from your present state in the...
Another great suggestion @Jim6820 that will be helpful to many. I bought a plastic colander at the Dollar Store a couple years back and use it to sift out the dust from the Bear Mountain pellets I use.
An 8# pork butt is resting in the warming drawer now for tonight.
Black eyed pea soup with collard greens and left over Christmas ham tomorrow with jalapeno cornbread.
Happy New Year to all!
