The worst part of all of this is that a lot of the farmers are getting less money for their cows. My in-laws are dairy farmers and sell off the steer when ready to be butchered. Get less and less everytime, but everyone else is cashing in.
I rarely buy beef or pig in the market, but I feel for everyone.
Yeah I was just reading an article this morning at work where Government regulations have affected the salmon fishing in California essentially not allowing it for last 2 years. So there is a part of the now $18 per lb or higher Salmon. List is growing every dayThe worst part of all of this is that a lot of the farmers are getting less money for their cows. Amen! The "sale prices" on meat today are still higher than the regular prices just 3+ years ago.
I have a hard time with that.
I'm voting to attempt to improve things around here this November.
The initial uptick in prices was in mid 20 thru 22. Many economic reasons for this including Russia invasion of Ukraine, pandemic, pandemic related stimuli to people and companies who didn't need them and didn't have to pay them back, supply chain problems, etc. However, since 2023, prices should have dropped on many items but the manufacturers and suppliers have not reduced prices and profits have soared. Don't buy the corporate line. According to all historic economic factors, inflation should be below 2% annually. The worst part of all of this is that a lot of the farmers are getting less money for their cows. Thinking the lesson Bud Light learnedYet here we all here......and it is what it is for some of the reasons you mentioned. If only consumers in masses would stop spending money for a few days up to a week, you can bet that things would quickly shape right up with INFLATION.

Yeah no pictures but we were at BJs wholesale it was choice 7.99 per lb. Just read in another thread in the forum guys we're getting choice for 2.50 to 3 per lb. That's a great price you got on yours.I’m cooking up a brisket tonight to take to my son’s fire station for dinner tomorrow. I bought this in late October and tossed it in the freezer. When I got it out I thought about this thread so I checked the price. I have to say I was a little surprised. It’s only a Choice grade but still not too bad. They are $1 a pound more now.View attachment 21723
I'm lucky to get it for under 6 bucks a pound, though I haven't checked cosctco. Did you get it at a regular store or a business center?I’m cooking up a brisket tonight to take to my son’s fire station for dinner tomorrow. Trump and his band of legal dipshits were 1-62 trying to prove the election was fraudulent. Try again.Elections have consequences, (mostly fraudulent elections have dire consequences).

Spare me the word salad and show me the proof the election was fraudulent. I'll wait. And we are all so much better off with #46, boy we all dodged a bullet with another 4 years of Trump and the most honest election EVER!!! "Dripping/oozing with sarcasm". Lets go Brandon.......and I bet you're one of the many who'd buy some oceanfront property from me here in Ohio as well? Good luck........actions/choices do have real consequences.
